Molecular Laboratory Technologist for Next Generation Sequencing - Full Time
Conducts molecular biology experiments using next generation sequencing in a laboratory for research and development of in vitro diagnostic reagents. The ideal candidate will have experience in a clinical or in a research laboratory setting. We are looking for someone with understanding and ability to independently carry out molecular experiments on biological samples.
Job responsibilities

Performs DNA extraction, quantification, and electrophoresis gel QC

Performs complex procedures and refine protocols required for specific projects such as NGS library construction

Participates in experiment design and troubleshooting

Analyzes, presents, and discuss results of experiments

Operates and maintains all laboratory area equipment in proper state of readiness and cleanliness

Maintains accurate paper and computerized documentation
-
Monitors inventory of supplies and equipment

Performs other duties as required
Qualifications and experience
-
Molecular biology techniques (DNA Extraction, PCR): 5 years (Required)

Next Generation Sequencing or Related Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Flexibility and willingness to learn and grow

Precise and accurate pipetting skills.

Must show attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and be able to prioritize workflow in a busy laboratory setting

Work in an organized manner to ensure that no samples are mixed up

Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong problem-solving skills, good at molecular biology related calculation.

Physical demands: Stooping, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling and the ability to lift (up to 30 pounds); constant/repetitive standing; requires normal, correctable vision and hearing, and the ability to accurately discern color as necessary to perform job functions.

Able to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., latex/non-latex gloves, lab-coat, etc) as needed.

Able to work independently and with other team members.

Understand laboratory safety procedures.

Bioinformatics Scientist for Next Generation Sequencing Data Analysis - Full Time
The Bioinformatics Scientist will contribute to data analysis and NGS pipeline development and maintenance.
Job responsibilities

Designing and developing algorithms to process, analyze, and interpret DNA datasets resulting from NGS

Develop and maintain statistical analytical tools and bioinformatics pipelines.

Qualifications and experience

Programming skills: Familiar with Python

Experience: Solid understanding of principles and analytical methodologies in computational biology and bioinformatics

Education required: Bachelor or Master's degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, biomedical engineering, computer Science, or a related field

Experience in scientific programming with applications to biological research and using biological analysis tools for processing and analysis of data
-
Experience with machine learning and/or artificial intelligence programming preferred

Experience with large genomic data sets (Next-generation sequence)

Working knowledge of command-line Linux, shell scripting, and HPC/cloud computing
-
Demonstrated independent thinking and problem-solving ability

Strong oral and written communication skills
